The Bishop Creek Shuttle is scheduled to commence service on June 17th and will operate 7 days/week through August 20th, then weekends through October 15th. The Shuttle will depart Bishop at 8:00am and 3:15pm then will travel to South Lake and Lake Sabrina before returning to Bishop. The Shuttle will stop for passengers along the route anywhere that it is safe for the bus to stop. The one-way adult fare is $5.00 ($2.50 for seniors, youth, and disabled). Effective Monday, April 24th, the spring transit services changes will commence with the following modifications:
- Red Line is discontinued for the season
- The Town Trolley route will expand its hours to operate from 7:00am until 10:00pm on a 30-minute frequency
- A Main Lodge Shuttle will commence operation providing 30-minute frequency service to Main Lodge. This shuttle will depart The Village stop #90 (bottom of the Westin steps) at :50 and :20 minutes past the hour beginning at 7:20am. Last departure from the Village is 3:50pm, last departure from Main Lodge is 4:05pm.

ESTA is in beta-test mode with a new real-time bus information system, which is expected to be functional and available in Mammoth within the next few weeks. The new system, Swiftly, will provide quick access to accurate real-time transit information and live maps with vehicle locations. In addition, the Swiftly mobile app also contains a real-time trip planner to help users compare the travel time and price of a variety of transportation options, including walking, biking, transit, rideshare, and more. The Swiftly link at the top of our Home page provides access to route information for buses operating on the Red Line, Purple Line and Town Trolley. Stay tuned for future announcements about this exciting new transit amenity.
Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24th
- Lone Pine Dial-A-Ride will be closed
- Bishop Dial-A-Ride will be operating from 8:00am to 5:30pm
- 395 Routes and all Town-to-Town Routes will be operating
Christmas Day, Friday, December 25th
- All services will be closed except those within the Town of Mammoth Lakes.
New Year’s Weekend December 31st – January 2nd
Eastern Sierra Transit will be operating Nite Rider service in Bishop on New Year’s Weekend, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Nite Rider Service will be in operation until 2:00am. Nite Rider fare is $4.20 within the Bishop area. Call 760-872-1901 ext 22 to schedule a ride.
On Friday, January 1st all services will be closed except for Bishop Nite Rider and those within the Town of Mammoth Lakes.
Eastern Sierra Transit Authority would like to send a sincere thank you to all our customers and friends for riding with us this past year.
The Town Trolley will commence its fall, shoulder season schedule effective Tuesday, September 8th. The shoulder season schedule operates from 9:00am until 10:00pm, with service approximately every 30 minutes.
Seasonal, weekday service to Whitmore Pool will begin Monday, June 22nd. The route departs from the bus shelter behind McDonalds approximately every two hours or less from 7:35am until 5:20pm. NOTE: From June 22nd through July 3rd, the first morning run from McDonald’s departs at 7:35am. From July 6th forward, the first morning run will depart McDonald’s at 7:50am. All Eastern Sierra Transit Bus Services will be closed on Labor Day, Monday September 7th, except for the services within the Town of Mammoth Lakes.
Bishop’s Nite Rider Service will be in operation Labor Day weekend (THURSDAY – SUNDAY 2AM)
