RFP - BISHOP OPERATION YARD PHASE 1

A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at Eastern Sierra Transit’s Bishop Office on Monday May 4, 2015 at 10:00AM, located at 703B Airport Road, Bishop, California.  The Eastern Sierra Transit will receive sealed bids for the work shown on the plans entitled: (CLICK ON LINK) Bishop Operations Yard Phase 1Bids will be received at the Office of Eastern Sierra Transit Authority located at 703b Airport Road, Bishop, CA 93514 until 3:00PM on Friday May 15, 2015 at which time they will be publicly opened and read.The project is located at the Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA) facility at Eastern Sierra Regional Airport, 703 Airport Road. The project will include construction of paved operations yard including asphalt pavement and concrete pavement, curb, gutter, striping, storm drain catch basin, piping, sand-oil interceptor and underground retention field.Plans and specifications may be obtained for a NONREFUNDABLE FEE.  To order the plans and specifications by telephone call (760) 872-1901 Ext 11, or fax (760) 872-0936.  Plans and specifications will be available for free via e-mail, please email jbatchelder@estransit.com to request. When submitting a request, please include all bidder information including project name, company name, contact name and title, phone number, fax number, and email address.The Contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder submitting the lowest responsive bid on the base bid alone.  ESTA reserves the right to waive any informality or irregularity in a bid. ESTA reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids, or to utilize the procedures authorized by the Public Contract Code Sections 20166 and 20167.  Submission of a bid shall be deemed conclusive evidence that the bidder has thoroughly examined the plans, specifications and the site of all work and the bid takes all costs into account.  Each bid shall remain good for ninety (90) days after bid opening.

Shoulder Season Night Trolley Service Begins

Effective April 19th, the shoulder season Night Trolley service is in effect, with service approximately every 30 minutes from 5:30pm until 10:00pm.  The last Trolley run departs Snowcreek Athletic Club at 9:30pm. (shoulder season schedule).

ESTA RECOGNIZED AS 2015 OUTSTANDING RURAL TRANSIT AGENCY

The Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA) was recognized at the California Association of Coordinated Transportation (CalACT) spring conference as the 2015 Outstanding Rural Transit Agency.  CalACT is a statewide, non-profit organization that has represented the interests of small, rural, and specialized transportation providers since 1984, and is comprised of representatives from large and small systems, planning and government agencies, social service agencies, suppliers and consultants.  John Helm, ESTA’s Executive Director, accepted the award on behalf of ESTA’s employees and Board of Directors at the conference awards luncheon held on April 14th.  ESTA was recognized for delivering a broad range of high quality and valuable services throughout a diverse area spanning 400 linear miles from Lancaster to Reno.    

WEBSITE MODIFICATION RFP

Green-Yellow-Blue Routes Merged

As of March 23rd, the Blue, Yellow and Green routes have been merged into one route providing 30-minute frequency from 7:30am to 5:30pm (schedule).

RFP - PROJECT MANAGEMENT SERVICE FOR BISHOP TRANSIT OPERATION YARD

The Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA) is seeking proposals for project management services for the Transit Operations Yard Project.  The project includes involvement in the request for proposal process for the construction project, construction oversight, material testing and compliance monitoring.  RFP Project Management

ST. PATRICK'S DAY NITE RIDER SERVICE IN BISHOP

Bishop's Nite Rider service will be in operation on St. Partrick's Day, Tuesday, March, 17th from 6:00pm - 2:00 am.  Call 760-872-1901 Ext 22 for a pick up.

PRESIDENT'S DAY

In observance of President’s Day, Monday, February 16th, all Eastern Sierra Transit bus services will be closed, except for buses service within the Town of Mammoth Lakes. 

HWY 395 CLOSURE - Monday 2/9

Hwy 395 is currently closed to high profile vehicle between Bridgeport and Lee Vining due to extreme wind condition.   The 395 Route southbound from Reno will travel on Hwy 6 and will not be making any stops in Bridgeport, Lee Vining, June Lakes or Mammoth.  SERVICE CHANGEThe 5:20pm bus from Mammoth to Bishop is cancelled this evening due to the closure of U.S. Highway 395 north of Mammoth. There will be a bus this evening at 7:00pm that will be available to transport passengers south on Highway 395 as far as Bishop. This 7:00pm bus is a one-time response to today’s road closure and is not an ongoing addition to ESTA’s services.
